UBC Solar is a multi-disciplinary student design team at The University of British Columbia. Our team consists of undergraduate and graduate students from various fields including Engineering, Science, Business, and Arts. We operate on a 2-year design cycle and focus on in-house design and fabrication. Our main objective is to build a solar-powered vehicle and participate in the Formula Sun Grand Prix 2019 competition. The team is divided into three sub-teams: electrical, mechanical, and administrative, which work on smaller projects that require integration of multiple systems. We welcome anyone with a passion for solar vehicles to join us and gain valuable design, fabrication, and leadership skills.
