SUBC - The UBC Submarine Design Team

SUBC - The UBC Submarine Design Team is a group of undergraduate students, primarily engineers from various departments, who come together to design, build, test, and race a one-person, "wet" submarine. Our main objective is to provide team members with valuable practical experience that cannot be obtained in a traditional classroom setting. Through this project, students have the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge to real-world problems, develop project and budget management skills, and foster a hands-on design approach that will benefit them in future endeavors. Additionally, we actively participate in exhibitions and display venues such as Science World and the Vancouver International Boat Show to promote post-secondary education and inspire young students by showcasing the exciting aspects of science and engineering. Lastly, our goal is to continually improve our project and compete with some of the most competitive submarines at the competition.
