Comité logement Plateau Mont-Royal (CLPMR)

The Comité logement Plateau Mont-Royal (CLPMR) is an organization dedicated to defending the rights of tenants and those experiencing inadequate housing in the Plateau Mont-Royal area. They aim to promote social housing as an alternative to the private rental market and mobilize residents to advance their rights. Despite the media portrayal of affluence, sociodemographic data reveals a reality of exclusion and poverty for over a third of the neighborhood's population. The CLPMR operates locally by providing free services to tenants, regionally by collaborating with other tenant associations in Montreal, and nationally through participation in housing-related groups and federations. Membership is available for a $2 annual fee and provides voting rights and the opportunity to join the board of directors. Volunteers are also welcome to assist with the organization's educational activities and mobilization efforts.
