Centre de recherche sur les innovations sociales - CRISES

The Centre for Research on Social Innovations (CRISES) is an interdisciplinary and interuniversity organization that brings together over a hundred researchers from various academic backgrounds. Established in 1986, CRISES is a strategic grouping of the Quebec Fund for Research on Society and Culture (FQRSC) and has been under the direction of Juan-Luis Klein since 2009. CRISES members study and analyze social innovations and transformations through four complementary axes: collective enterprises, social policies and practices, territories and local communities, and work and employment. Many of these research projects are conducted in collaboration with socio-economic actors, and CRISES members actively engage in knowledge transfer activities with the community. While the main offices are located on the UQAM campus, CRISES also operates regional hubs to support various activities. The objectives of CRISES include producing and disseminating new knowledge on social innovations, providing a platform for research activities, fostering new research directions, developing partnerships, organizing scientific and knowledge transfer activities, and training young researchers. In addition to conducting research projects and hosting postdoctoral fellows and students, CRISES organizes seminars and conferences to facilitate the sharing and dissemination of new knowledge. The Centre also oversees several research paper collections to showcase the latest work of its members.
