West Meals on Wheels

The West Meals on Wheels program, in partnership with the Glen Stor Dun Lodge Outreach Department, is a volunteer-based community service that delivers nutritious meals to individuals in order to help them maintain their health and independence at home. The program offers both a hot meal program and a frozen meal program, allowing recipients to choose the option that suits their needs. The hot meal program provides a variety of appetizing meals delivered by friendly volunteers between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm from Monday to Friday at a cost of $32.50 per week. The frozen meal program, provided by Apetito, offers a range of main dishes, soups, and desserts suitable for various dietary requirements. Trained volunteers deliver the meals, providing personal contact, safety checks, and daily visits. Meals on Wheels serves approximately 135 recipients in Cornwall, with over 230 volunteers delivering meals on 7 different routes. Recipients pay $30 per week for 5 meals that include an entrée, soup, salad, gravy, and dessert. Meals are delivered Monday to Friday between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. Meals on Wheels is a proud member agency of the United Way of SDG.
