The Vancouver Area Network of Drug Users (VANDU) is a peer-run organization that was established in 1998 to bring together individuals who use drugs. VANDU is dedicated to improving the lives of drug users, their families, and communities by empowering drug users to live healthy and productive lives. We promote harm reduction education and interventions at the local, regional, and national levels, challenging traditional client/service provider relationships and ensuring that drug users have a voice in the creation of programs and policies that serve them. Our ultimate goal is drug user liberation, which can only be achieved through the efforts of drug users themselves.
