Vanderwees Garden Gallery is a locally owned and family business in Thunder Bay. Established in 1960, it started as a part-time business offering vegetables and garden plants, but has since expanded its product selection. John Vanderwees joined his father as a partner in 1989 and continues to run the company today. The gallery now offers a wide range of products including tropical plants, seasonal plants, gardening tools, home furniture, patio furniture, gourmet food, kids toys, and Crocs shoes. Additionally, the Tulips Cafe, located within the retail area, serves gourmet soups, sandwiches, desserts, and coffee. The company also offers a senior discount of 10% off all regular priced items every Wednesday. Vanderwees Garden Gallery is known as Thunder Bay's most complete garden center, offering plants, trees, water gardening, fountains, Christmas trees, Crocs, mini golf, and the Tulips Cafe.
