The Unity Project is a shelter that provides emergency and transitional housing for individuals aged 18 and over. Our shelter operates 24/7 and offers comfortable dorms for men, women, and couples. We create a safe and supportive community where residents take responsibility for themselves and each other. Our front-line support staff provide personalized counseling and facilitate peer support and empowerment.
We primarily focus on meeting basic needs such as food, shelter, and clothing through various programs including drop-in services, crash beds, emergency shelter, and transitional housing. Many residents progress through our 5-stage model, starting with drop-in access and eventually transitioning to phase-I and phase-II transitional housing.
Our goal is to make residents' stay as comfortable and productive as possible, and to help them find stable housing. We strive to use the least amount of intervention necessary to end homelessness for each individual. We also work to divert people from needing shelter, provide stability for those in crisis, and connect participants with community resources.
Ultimately, our mission is to provide support, compassion, and empowerment to individuals experiencing homelessness.
