The Potters Studio Inc.

The Potter's Studio Inc. was established in 1971 as a cooperative studio in response to the limited opportunities for non-professional potters to pursue their craft seriously. With support from the local potters' community and the Clay and Glass Association, the studio was founded in April 1972 at 328 Dupont Street. The studio quickly gained popularity, attracting a membership of 40 and a waiting list of aspiring potters. In 1977, due to the sale of the building on Dupont Street, the studio relocated to its current location at Thorncliffe Park, where it can accommodate 50 potters. As a not-for-profit cooperative, The Potter's Studio has been a hub for Toronto artisans for over forty years, providing a space for them to work, learn, and share ideas and expertise. Today, the studio boasts over fifty members who produce unique functional and artistic pottery pieces, including raku and majolica.
