The Potter's Studio

The Potter's Studio was founded in 1971 by a group of 12 individuals who saw a lack of opportunities for non-professional potters to pursue their passion seriously. With support from the local potters' community and the Clay and Glass Association, the studio was established at 328 Dupont Street. By April 1972, the studio was operational with 40 members and a waiting list. In 1977, due to the sale of the building, the studio relocated to its current location at Thorncliffe Park, where it can accommodate 50 potters. As a not-for-profit cooperative, The Potter's Studio has been bringing Toronto artisans together for over forty years to create unique and beautiful pottery. Presently, the studio has over fifty members who continue to produce one-of-a-kind pieces.
