The Pine Project is a registered charitable organization that aims to inspire a love of nature. Since its establishment in 2008, it has become Ontario's leading nature connection organization. The organization provides year-round nature connection programs for people of all ages in Toronto and the surrounding area, including Outdoor School, day and overnight camps, and March Break programs. The Pine Project engages with over 1,500 children, teens, families, and adults each year.
The organization believes in educating the whole person and focuses on fostering confidence, competence, resilience, and a deep relationship with nature. Their programs offer a unique learning experience that is difficult to achieve in traditional learning environments.
By helping children and adults connect with nature, The Pine Project aims to inspire respect, cherish, and care for the Earth. They believe in empowering the next generation of environmental stewards, problem solvers, and leaders.
The Pine Project offers nature-based programs that provide long-term mentoring experiences for children, youth, and adults in the local environment. These programs take place entirely outside, regardless of the weather conditions.
Research has shown that consistent time spent in nature leads to happier, healthier, and more developmentally advanced children. The Pine Project has witnessed the positive impact of nature and strong mentoring on the resilience and development of children.
The organization integrates parents and siblings into the experience by involving them in opening and closing circles, storytelling, and celebrations throughout the year.
In addition to their regular programs, The Pine Project also offers summer camp programs and nature connection programs specifically designed for teens, families, and adults.
