The Frederic Chopin Music School (FCMS) is an exclusive music school located in Mississauga, serving both children and adults in the Greater Toronto Area. Our mission is to nurture students' intellectual and social development through the study of music, providing them with the environment and instruction to achieve the highest scholastic merits in music. We respect the unique needs of our students and offer a creative, interdisciplinary, and empowering space to help them reach their individual goals. Our teaching methods are based on the European method of music instruction, focusing on proper hand placement and classical theory.
Research has shown that children who are exposed to music or play an instrument perform better in school. Exposure to music benefits a child's reading age, IQ, and brain development, optimizing brain neuronal development and circuitry.
We offer a range of services, including RCM exam preparation with an expected score of 80% or higher, yearly recitals to showcase our students' talent, discounts for students taking multiple lessons or families with multiple students, and participation and preparation in music festivals. Our lessons cover various instruments such as piano, vocal, guitar, accordion, violin, piccolo, recorder, clarinet, saxophone, flute, as well as theory of music, drama, musical theatre, and preschool music lessons.
The FCMS is endorsed by Cooksville Member of Parliament, Wladyslaw Lizon. Our founder and director, Grazyna Szacon, brings over 40 years of experience in performance and teaching, and her methods based on European masters instruction have kept the school in business for 21 years.
Why choose us? We offer a free first lesson and use the classical European method of teaching to prepare for Royal Conservatory Exams. We do not rely on shortcuts and have a proven success record of top scores in RCM exams. Since 1992, we have been offering music lessons in various disciplines, catering to the diverse interests and needs of our students.
