Taking Root

EnRacine, a non-profit organization based in Montreal, Canada, was founded in 2007 with the goal of using reforestation to restore ecosystems, improve livelihoods, and tackle climate change. The organization collaborates with small-scale farmers in Nicaragua to develop social reforestation projects. These projects are funded through the sale of third-party verified carbon offsets to businesses and individuals worldwide. EnRacine follows the Plan Vivo standard, which emphasizes community participation, the use of native tree species, and the protection of critical watersheds.
