Surex Community Services is committed to promoting personal growth and lifelong development for all individuals. We believe in the importance of recognizing each person's unique values, goals, dreams, and aspirations. Our Services Principles focus on Person Centered Planning and individual Support Plans to provide personalized approaches for each individual's life.
At the John Carbone Centre, we offer a Community Support Program that provides day activities for individuals with developmental disabilities who are over the age of 18. Additionally, we provide Residential Services in eleven homes located in east Toronto and Scarborough. Two of these homes are wheelchair accessible, and two others are wheelchair accessible and cater to seniors.
Surex Community Services was established in 1980 as a pilot project to reintegrate individuals who had been residing in Huronia Regional Centre. This initiative aimed to integrate institutionalized individuals with severe disabilities into community-based services. The project began with the creation of two community homes for eight adolescents.
Overall, Surex Community Services is dedicated to supporting individuals in achieving their full potential and enhancing their quality of life.
