Sunshine Coast Community Services (SCCSS) is a non-profit organization that has been dedicated to strengthening and supporting our community on the Sunshine Coast of B.C. since 1974. We offer a wide range of programs and services in four main areas: Community in Action, Together Against Violence, Child Development Services, and Family & Youth Services.
Under Community in Action, we operate the SC Food Bank, Volunteer & Visitor Information Centres, Better at Home for seniors, the Thrift Shop, Community Resource Centre, and Welcoming Communities for new immigrants. These programs aim to provide essential resources and support to community members in need.
Together Against Violence is our initiative to support individuals affected by various forms of violence and trauma. We offer crisis intervention, shelter, affordable housing, counselling, advocacy, and non-judgmental emotional and practical support.
Child Development Services focuses on promoting active participation and inclusivity through family-centered programs. We provide counselling for pregnant and new moms, parents, caregivers, and children, as well as prevention, intervention, and support programs for families with children who have developmental delays or diagnosed disabilities.
Family & Youth Services offers individual and group counselling for families, youth, children, and adults. Our collaborative approach emphasizes building on the client's strengths and developing positive relationships to ensure their needs are met.
Additionally, we partner with the Arrowhead Clubhouse Society to provide programs for adults with mental health challenges.
SCCSS employs 90 dedicated staff members and works with hundreds of volunteers to support over 5000 community members each year. We offer a total of 35 programs across our four main areas.
