Smilez Dentistry

Established in 2009 by Dr. Lorraine Thaker, Smilez Dentistry is a dental clinic that focuses on providing comprehensive dental care with a wellness-centered approach. Dr. Thaker, who studied at McGill University, has a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology and a Doctorate in Dental Surgery. She has extensive experience in the field and has practiced dentistry for 17 years in Ottawa before founding Smilez in Carleton Place. Dr. Thaker believes in the importance of continuing education and has studied advanced dentistry at the Pankey Institute and the Dawson Academy. She has also been actively involved in dental organizations such as the Ottawa Women Dentists Study Club and the Ottawa Dental Society. Dr. Thaker is a member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons, the American Equilibration Society, and the Canadian Academy of Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics. The dental team at Smilez Dentistry consists of knowledgeable, attentive, and caring professionals, including Lynn Fowler, Annette Prins, Julie Sadler, Caroline Wood-Lyons, and Robyn Bell. The clinic is well-equipped with three operatories, a consultation room, an x-ray room, and an in-house lab. The circular open concept design of the clinic reflects their holistic approach to dental health, with the patient at the center.
