The RTI's mission is to teach riders how to ride defensively, prioritizing safety on the road. The most popular courses offered by the RTI are the M2 and M licensing programs.
To qualify for an M2 license, individuals must hold a valid M1 driving permit and have the necessary motorcycle riding safety gear. To qualify for the M license training program, individuals must hold an M2 class license that has been valid for 18 months or more (if obtained through a recognized motorcycle training program) or 22 months or more (if not obtained through a recognized motorcycle training program). Additionally, individuals must have appropriate safety gear and ride a motorcycle greater than 250cc.
The "Riding Basics" training program for the M2 license consists of 3 hours of theory and 15 hours of practical training on the RTI's bikes. The "Riding Strategies" program for the full M license includes one evening of theory, a half day of riding with instructors, and one hour of solo testing. Group sizes are limited to ensure personalized coaching and instruction.
The RTI offers programs at various locations in Ontario, including Toronto, North York, Bowmanville, Oakville, St. Catharines, Orillia, and Ottawa. Training courses typically run from April to November. For specific locations and availability, please contact the RTI.
