Remai Modern is a new museum located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan that is deeply rooted in the rich culture and history of the Prairies. The museum acknowledges and respects the Indigenous artists and nations of the region, and strives to be a leading center for contemporary Indigenous art and discourse. Saskatchewan has a history of progressive politics and support for the arts, with the establishment of the Saskatchewan Arts Board in 1948. The province's art history reflects a self-conscious and experimental attitude, with influential modern artists and critics gathering at the Emma Lake artist workshops in the 1950s and 60s. Remai Modern offers a stunning collection of modern spaces that can accommodate a wide range of events, and is proud to feature Oliver & Bonacini as its exclusive caterer. The museum includes 11 gallery spaces, a theater, a restaurant, outdoor terraces, and rooms with beautiful views of the South Saskatchewan River. Remai Modern is a direction-setting art museum and gathering place for culture and community, offering a unique perspective on art and culture in the 21st century.
