Regina Ringette

The Regina Ringette Association (RRA) is responsible for overseeing, promoting, and advancing the sport of ringette in Regina. This includes governing and developing ringette for all athletes, coaches, and team staff in the city. The RRA also manages the Regina Ringette League in collaboration with the Buffalo Plains Ringette Association. Ringette is a unique winter ice sport primarily played by females. It shares similarities with hockey, as it is played on ice with skates, full protective equipment, and sticks. However, ringette differs in that it utilizes a straight stick, a distinctive face mask, a hollow rubber ring, and incorporates a shot clock, similar to basketball. One of the key aspects of ringette is the absence of intentional body contact, resulting in a fast-paced and dynamic game. This sport offers an exceptional team sport experience, encourages lifelong participation, and provides opportunities for individuals to strive for excellence.
