The Multicultural Heritage Centre, located in Stony Plain, Alberta, is a Provincial Historic Site that was once the Old Brick School built in 1925. The school, designed with Scottish architectural influences, served as the region's first high school until 1949. After undergoing extensive renovations and landscaping, it was transformed into the Multicultural Heritage Centre. The centre features a public art gallery, artisan shop, museum, and the Homesteader's Kitchen, which offers freshly baked goods, locally sourced food, and homemade preserves. Adjacent to the centre is the Oppertshauser House, a Municipal Historic Resource that showcases the urban aspect of local heritage. The Multicultural Heritage Centre, operated by the Heritage Agricultural Society, has been preserving and promoting the history of Stony Plain and the surrounding area for over three decades. It offers interpretive displays, award-winning school programs, and a Demonstration Farm with organic certification.
