Rcyc Yacht Club

The Royal Canadian Yacht Club (RCYC) is a prestigious private club that was founded in 1852 and is one of the oldest in North America. It was originally known as the Toronto Boat Club and received a royal warrant from Queen Victoria in 1854. The current Patron of the club is HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. The main objective of RCYC is to promote excellence in competitive sailing and other sports such as squash, badminton, tennis, and lawn bowling. The club is internationally recognized for its world-class athletes and its involvement in prestigious regattas, including hosting the 2015 Pan American Games, the 2016 8 Metre World Cup, and the 2016 Canada's Cup. In 2016, RCYC supported two Olympian athletes through its Athlete Development Fund (ADF), which is a program that invests in young and developing athletes. In addition to its sports activities, RCYC offers a vibrant social scene with family-oriented programming and upscale dining options at its Island and City Clubhouses.
