Raven Spirit Dance

Raven Spirit Dance is a company that aims to produce aboriginal-driven dance performances for the general public. They also offer workshops and educational activities in dance and performing arts to diverse communities. The company encourages and collaborates with emerging and established aboriginal artists to develop and produce their work. They also promote collaboration between aboriginal and multicultural individuals, companies, and organizations with similar interests. Additionally, Raven Spirit provides a platform for artists involved in dance and live theatre to develop their skills through experience and training. The company's mandate is to create contemporary dance rooted in traditional and contemporary aboriginal worldview, and to share this work on local, national, and international stages. Led by Artistic Director Michelle Olson, Raven Spirit aims to explore how professional artistic work can be responsive and responsible to the community, and to redefine dance's place in diverse community settings.
