The Queen's Baja SAE team annually designs and constructs a single-seat off-road vehicle for participation in three SAE sanctioned events in North America. Our team competes against around 150 school teams, including those from distant places like India, to create the most exceptional prototype for a hypothetical production run of 4000 units, all utilizing a 10 hp Briggs & Stratton engine. The best car is determined through a three-day competition involving various aspects such as design presentation, cost report, sales presentation, brake test, technical inspection, acceleration test, hill climb, maneuverability test, suspension test, and the highly esteemed endurance event. Our team consists of talented and passionate students, primarily mechanical engineers, but we welcome members from any background. If you are interested in having fun and learning something new, feel free to join us at the DAPR in the basement of McLaughlin Hall anytime.
