PLATO Testing

PLATO Testing is a software testing company that is currently owned by PQA. They have developed a six month tester training program specifically for Indigenous individuals, which includes classroom and lab work as well as a two month internship. The program aims to provide trainees with the opportunity to gain experience and qualify as entry level software testers. The company recognizes the underemployment issue faced by Aboriginal communities in Canada and aims to support the economy by training and employing software testers within the country. Additionally, the nature of software testing allows for remote work, which creates opportunities to work within Aboriginal communities while serving clients globally. The ultimate goal for PLATO is to be owned, led, and staffed by Indigenous individuals and expand its reach to Aboriginal communities nationwide. This expansion has the potential to create more job opportunities in both Aboriginal and rural communities. PLATO Testing is focused on providing employment opportunities to Indigenous people while delivering software testing services to clients worldwide. They are developing a network of Indigenous software testers across Canada and offering outsourced testing solutions to clients in North America.
