The Periyasivan Temple, established by Adiyar Vipulanda, is the oldest and most significant Hindu temple in Canada. It was founded in response to the Hindu community's desire for a Sivan Temple in Scarborough. The temple offers various services, including the publication of the "Matham" magazine, a Hindu Tamil religious school, and pilgrim services for seniors. In 2001, the temple conducted its first Kumbhabishegam, a consecration ceremony, with the installation of a statue of Lord Siva in the shrine. The temple is located in the heart of Toronto and is dedicated to Lord Siva.
