Pearls 4 Girls

"Pearls 4 Girls" is an organization founded by Mary 'Pearl' Murphy in 2006 with the aim of making a difference in the lives of young women. Inspired by the stories of girls overcoming adversity in Lesotho, southern Africa, Mary gathered a team of high school students to raise funds for Help Lesotho's annual Leadership Camp. Through the creation and sale of pearl jewelry, the team successfully raised enough money to send 14 girls to the camp. Since then, "Pearls 4 Girls" has raised close to one million dollars, empowering thousands of girls in Lesotho and engaging volunteers from Canada and around the world. The organization's dream is to provide leadership education to all girls globally, particularly those in developing countries like Lesotho who have been orphaned due to HIV/AIDS.
