Paperhouse Studio is a Toronto-based collective that focuses on designing artist-led programs centered around paper, print media, and community-building. The collective, comprised of Flora Shum, Emily Cook, and Stephanie Taylor, serves as an outreach arm to Paperhouse Studio, building on its community-based programming. Through their workshops and programming, Paperhouse Outreach Collective introduces participants to the history of paper and printmaking, while also teaching them the skills needed to create their own paper and print works. The collective aims to integrate artists, learners, and community members, offering workshops outside of institutional education. Paperhouse Studio, established in 2013, is an experimental studio that specializes in paper arts. They provide a fun, playful, and educational environment for artists, promoting accessibility and diversity. The studio offers both the space and expertise for artists to experiment and explore new ideas in their work. As part of the new Artscape Youngplace building, Paperhouse Studio is proud to be a member of the creative and inspiring community hub. Through their outreach arm, Paperhouse Outreach Collective, they design youth and intergenerational programs for marginalized communities, with community building at the core of their mission.
