Ottawa Symphony Orchestra

The Ottawa Symphony Orchestra is a vital part of the classical music community in the National Capital Region. With a history dating back over 115 years, it is the only full-size symphony orchestra in the region capable of presenting major works from the late 19th and 20th centuries. The orchestra is dedicated to promoting Canadian talent through the employment of local musicians, engagement of Canadian soloists, and regular inclusion of Canadian works in their concert programs. The orchestra also collaborates with other musical organizations and educational institutions to foster a love for classical music and live performances among children and emerging musicians. Under the leadership of Artistic Advisor and Principal Guest Conductor Alain Trudel, the orchestra has achieved new levels of artistic excellence and experienced growth in its audiences. In addition to their regular concert series, the orchestra also offers free educational performances to students, nurturing the next generation of musicians and concert patrons.
