Open Door Group

Open Door Group provides unique and innovative group programs and individualized services in Vancouver. Our programs aim to enhance skills and interests, promote personal development, and foster independence and empowerment. We believe that meaningful involvement in leisure activities leads to a healthy balanced lifestyle and a high quality of life. Participants can meet with a Recreation Therapist to develop a personal plan and set achievable goals. Our services are available to residents of Vancouver with mental health conditions at no cost. To join our programs, attend our orientation sessions or contact a Recreation Therapist for an individual appointment. Open Door Group started as a small organization offering woodworking and sewing classes to individuals with mental illness and disabilities, and has since grown into a provincial organization with locations in various parts of British Columbia. We offer employment programs and innovative leisure programs for unemployed individuals, including those with disabilities and barriers to employment. Our services are funded by the BC Ministry of Social Development, Interior Health Authority, and Vancouver Coastal Health Authority.
