Mennonite Coalition for Refugee Support

The Mennonite Coalition for Refugee Support (MCRS), now known as COMPASS, has been providing assistance to refugees navigating Canada's refugee claim process since 1987. These individuals come from over 45 different countries and are fleeing personal threats to their lives. Recognized by Canadian Border Service Agents as eligible to make a claim, they face a difficult and complex process. MCRS aims to create a more just, welcoming, and supportive environment for refugee claimants through orientation, advocacy, settlement support, and the establishment of a community of mutual support. COMPASS is a leader in assisting refugee claimants, accompanying them throughout the process, helping them thrive in their new lives in Canada, and advocating for their integration into welcoming communities.
