Magnet is a network that uses advanced technology to connect job seekers with employers based on their skills, preferences, and talent needs. It aims to address unemployment and underemployment, particularly among youth, new immigrants, Aboriginal peoples, persons with disabilities, and others facing barriers to employment. The network currently includes over 60,000 job seekers, 3,500 employers, 25 universities and colleges, and over 100 labor-based and employment-focused organizations. Magnet is a Ryerson-led initiative in partnership with the Ontario Chambers of Commerce. It is also the digital platform for Canada's Future Skills Centre, a research center focused on preparing Canadians for future workforce opportunities. Magnet's mission is to promote inclusive economic growth in Canada by connecting people, businesses, and organizations to opportunities through its intelligent matching technology.
