Business Description
The Kitchener Rangers are a junior hockey team that was established in 1963. Originally a farm team of the NHL's New York Rangers, the team was brought to Kitchener by Eugene George and a group of local businessmen. In 1967, George purchased the team from the New York Rangers for one dollar and turned it into a not-for-profit organization. The team is governed by a 39-person Board of Directors elected by season ticket subscribers. The Kitchener Rangers have had a successful history, winning OHL championships in 1981, 1982, 2003, and 2008, as well as two Memorial Cup championships in 1982 and 2003.
