The Institute for Research and Development on Inclusion and Society (IRIS) is an independent institute that focuses on policy research and social development leadership. Its main goal is to advance the citizenship, inclusion, human rights, and well-being of individuals with intellectual and other disabilities. IRIS collaborates with experts and analyzes the social and economic realities faced by people with disabilities to give voice to their experiences. It also connects disability issues to broader research, policy, and social development agendas. IRIS distributes research and resources, provides a Canadian perspective, and ensures its efforts are non-partisan and of the highest quality. The institute aims to move research and new knowledge into action through various knowledge mobilization strategies.
