Frame Discreet

Frame Discreet, founded by Cinematographer Justin Lovell in 2003, started as a solution for transferring his own films shot on 8/16mm. Over the years, we have developed our own 2k scanner, known as Belladonna, and recently acquired the highly powerful 5k 8/16/35mm Lasergraphics Scanstation in early 2015. With this milestone achievement, we are now capable of capturing even more information from the film itself. Our film scans are distinguished by their frame by frame razor sharp scanning, advanced color correction, and the meticulous eye of a cinematographer. We specialize in motion picture film transfers and restoration, with a focus on 8/16/35mm scans. We have a team of full-time colorists and a dedicated suite available for grading digital files. In addition to our scanning and restoration services, we offer a range of motion picture film services, including film digitizing, transfer, scanning, buying and selling film, rentals, advice, cinematography, and film processing and developing. As an 8mm and 16mm film to digital transfer studio, Frame Discreet was created by Associate CSC Cinematographer Justin Lovell, who has a deep passion for film.
