Fondation pour les arts et la culture du bassin de Chambly

The Fondation pour les arts et la culture du bassin de Chambly (FAC) is an organization whose mission is to defend and promote the artistic and cultural interests of the four cities in the Chambly basin: Chambly, Carignan, Richelieu, and Saint-Mathias-sur-Richelieu. By organizing cultural activities, the FAC encourages participation from different communities, allows the population to discover the artists and artisans who are members of the Foundation, provides grants to its members, and administers a fund to support its activities. Over the years, the FAC has proposed various events including concerts, painting and sculpture symposiums, conferences, artist studio tours, literary competitions, and more. The FAC has gained recognition for its activities, such as the Art-Rue event, which was adopted in Lyon, France. Several events return annually, such as the Arts and Culture Salon, the Multicultural Festival, exhibitions at the Corps de garde, and participation in the Journées de la Culture. In 2015, as part of the 350th anniversary of the city of Chambly, the president of the FAC, Bruno Huissoud, created the "Arbre des arts" (Tree of Arts) with several other artists. This artwork can be admired on Boulevard de Périgny, at the entrance of the city of Chambly. The ultimate goal of the FAC is to bring together and promote the artists and artisans of the Chambly basin, representing all artistic and cultural practices in the region. Thanks to the involvement of the City of Chambly, artists, and the population, the FAC has a significant fund that allows it to continue its mission.
