Evangel Hall Mission

Evangel Hall Mission (ehm) is a non-profit organization that has been providing essential support to homeless and socially isolated individuals in the Queen and Bathurst area of Toronto since 1913. Our mission is to feed, house, and comfort those in need, offering practical, emotional, and spiritual assistance. In our drop-in center, we serve hot meals daily to up to 200 people, providing nourishment and a sense of community. Additionally, we offer fully furnished, affordable housing units to 120 individuals and families, ensuring they have a stable and supportive place to call home. ehm offers a range of programs to help participants in their day-to-day lives. Our Adult Drop-In program provides fellowship and support to homeless and socially isolated adults, offering a safe space for connection. Through our Food & Nutrition program, we serve over 100,000 hot meals annually, addressing the immediate needs of those we serve. We also provide housing assistance, including assessments, referrals, and advocacy for under-housed and homeless individuals. Our Trust Program supports participants with financial education, money management, and accessing government benefit programs. Community Dinners, prepared and served by volunteer groups, extend hospitality and warm smiles to up to 120 participants, fostering a sense of belonging. Our Clothing & Thrift Area offers quality used and new clothing, footwear, bedding, and other living essentials to those in need. For at-risk, inner-city youth, we offer youth groups that provide community, support, life skills development, and advocacy. This includes an after-school club, homework assistance for high school students, TTC funding, and summer camp opportunities. Through our Dental Clinic, staffed by volunteer dentists and hygienists, we provide free dental services to low-income families and individuals who lack access to essential and preventative dental care. Finally, our This Little Light Candles program allows participants to make beeswax candles to sell, supporting the work of ehm and empowering individuals to contribute to their own well-being. Overall, ehm is dedicated to providing comprehensive support to individuals experiencing homelessness or living in unstable housing situations. We strive to meet their immediate needs while also offering opportunities for personal growth, connection, and stability.
