Empower Simcoe

Simcoe Community Services is dedicated to significantly improving the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities. We believe in treating every person with respect, dignity, and individuality, while protecting their confidentiality and learning from their experiences. Our goal is to provide a quality of life that meets basic needs, fosters good health, and offers choices and opportunities for growth. We strive to create inclusive communities that accept and involve all members, and we are committed to being a learning organization that continually evaluates our work and employs innovative approaches. We prioritize accountability to the individuals and families we serve, the community, and our partners by providing quality programs and services, building positive relationships, acting ethically, and using resources responsibly. We value the contributions of our staff and volunteers and foster a culture of recognition, teamwork, and effective communication. We collaborate with stakeholders and community partners to develop responsive programs and services that meet the changing needs of individuals and families. Additionally, we work with individuals and parents on a lifelong basis to ensure they are informed, prepared, and able to respond to changing needs throughout their lives. The Simcoe Community Services Foundation partners with us to support individuals and families by raising funds for services and supports that receive limited or no government funding. Since 2002, the Foundation has successfully raised over $400,000 through various means, including annual campaigns, planned giving, bingo revenue, and annual events. Simcoe Community Services, founded in 1953, is a well-known provider of quality support services to individuals with intellectual disabilities. We have established partnerships with employers, educators, and human services professionals in the community and have been accredited by the Centre for Quality and Leadership Canada. As Empower Simcoe, we respond to community needs with inclusive supports and services that enhance the quality of life for all individuals. Our mission is to empower people to lead full and inclusive lives by providing the highest quality of services. We strive to create a welcoming environment where everyone has the opportunity to be, belong, and thrive.
