EmployAbilities

EmployAbilities is a community-based charitable non-profit organization that has been serving people with disabilities and barriers to employment since 1974. Our organization is governed by a volunteer board of directors and we have a strong focus on community advocacy. We are dedicated to increasing the economic participation and power of people with disabilities through the development of programs, services, and resources. We believe that diversity should be represented in both the community and the economy for a better future. Our services are centered around inclusion and opportunity, rather than entitlement or compromise. In 2011, we established the EmployAbilities Career and Employment Centre in Edmonton, which provides career information and employment placement services for people with disabilities. We strive to continually adapt to the changing demands of the workplace and market trends. Our mission is to provide specialized services to individuals with disabilities or barriers to employment, creating opportunities for skill development, education, and employment. Our vision is to create an inclusive society where all individuals are valued, respected, and have the opportunity to work to their full potential. We value collaboration, innovation, compassion, and integrity in providing inclusive services to all Albertans. Despite the barriers that many people face in finding employment, we believe that with support and guidance, individuals with barriers to employment can not only find a job but also enrich the work culture. EmployAbilities is here to provide skill development, training, and employment services to help Albertans with disabilities and barriers to employment thrive self-sufficiently in the workforce.
