The Elementary Teachers of Toronto (ETT) is the largest local organization in Canada, representing over 11,000 elementary teachers employed by the Toronto District School Board (TDSB). ETT is a part of the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) and serves as the representative body for its members. Our main objectives include providing support, professional development, and learning opportunities to our diverse membership, protecting and defending collective bargaining rights, advocating for students and public education, promoting social justice, and taking a leadership role in areas such as anti-poverty, non-violence, and equity. The Toronto Local aims to be a unified and democratic organization that addresses the needs of its members while advocating for children and public education.
