Electrical Safety Authority

The Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) is a regulatory body in Ontario responsible for ensuring the safe use of electricity and equipment. It enforces the Ontario Electrical Safety Code, appoints inspectors, and regulates the electrical industry. The ESA's mission is to improve electrical safety for the people of Ontario by administering regulations, licensing electrical contractors and master electricians, and promoting education and training. The ESA aims to create a safe environment where people can live, work, and play without the risk of electrical harm. It operates as a not-for-profit corporation under the Ministry of Government and Consumer Service's delegated administrative authority model.
