When our son was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at just eight years old, our family's life changed forever. Unless you have lived with this disease or loved someone who has, it is difficult to truly understand the emotional, physical, and mental demands it places not only on the individual, but on the entire family. Type 1 diabetes is a lifelong condition that requires constant attention, endless decisions, and an incredible amount of strength, patience, and resilience.
That is why finding an endocrinologist who genuinely understands the human side of this disease means more than words can express.
Our family is incredibly grateful to have Dr. Amit Rahalkar overseeing our son's care. He is not only an exceptional physician but also someone who genuinely listens, takes the time to understand his patients, and recognizes the important role families play in managing this complex disease. He approaches diabetes care with compassion, patience, understanding, and, most importantly, a realistic appreciation for the challenges of everyday life.
He makes you feel heard, respected, and supported rather than simply being another patient at an appointment. That kind of care is invaluable.
And then there is Jeffrey, the clinic manager, who deserves a special recognition of his own!Jeffrey is truly one of a kind. He goes above and beyond to make appointments, communication, and everything in between as manageable and stress-free as possible. He is incredibly helpful, compassionate, knowledgeable, and absolutely hilarious! His personality alone can brighten your entire day. I could honestly sit and talk with Jeffrey for hours!
