DIY Arts Collective

The DIY Arts Collective is a communal platform and safe space for social and independent business development, as well as artistic and cultural production. It is run by artists for artists and serves as a hub for underground and emerging art and performance in downtown Barrie. Located at 67 Toronto Street, the Collective offers a collaborative and accepting learning environment for social entrepreneurs, alternative artists, and cultural producers to create, gain confidence, and build credibility. We adhere to a DIY philosophy that encourages members to learn-by-doing. Our platform provides members with a voice, presence, and means to coordinate, contribute, and collaborate in community-based art, music, and cultural events. We have individual and organizational members who come from various creative disciplines. Ultimately, we are building a community and working together to achieve our diverse objectives as an alternative gallery, studio, event space, and collective.
