Digital Moment (formerly Kids Code Jeunesse)

Kids Code Jeunesse is a Canadian bilingual nonprofit organization that aims to ensure that every child in Canada has the opportunity to learn how to code. We provide trained volunteers to schools who teach computer programming to children and their teachers in the classroom. Our Work WITH STUDENTS... We teach computational thinking and computer programming to students in Canadian schools and community centers. Our educational development plan focuses on children aged 7 to 13 and beyond. Our educational materials ensure progression of learning from one step to the next. WITH TEACHERS... We partner with teachers who want to integrate programming into their language, arts, math, and technology classes. We volunteer in the classroom, guide teachers to the best educational resources, and organize professional development workshops. Additionally, we present our work at universities to professors, researchers, and education students from around the world. WITH PARENTS... We engage with parents through our Family Day events and by organizing workshops and raising awareness at local festivals and events. Parents are essential to our mission of teaching programming in schools. Overall, Kids Code Jeunesse is focused on giving children, teachers, and parents the necessary tools to thrive in a technology-driven society. We believe that children must learn how to create and communicate using the tools of the 21st century, and we achieve this by teaching them how to code and think like computer scientists and programmers.
