CanTYD is a non-profit organization in Toronto that focuses on empowering at-risk youth in the Tamil-Canadian community. It was established in 1998 by a group of Tamil-Canadian university students and has since grown to include 5 staff members, over 150 volunteers, and 500 young participants. CanTYD recently started a basketball development league for youth, with 26 participants split into four teams, each with a dedicated coach. The organization aims to teach team-building skills and help youth strengthen their individual strengths through basketball.
