If you’re looking for authentic Aikido in Calgary, this dojo really stands out. The instruction is detailed and practical, with a strong focus on both traditional techniques and real understanding.
What makes Calgary Rakushinkan unique compared to other Calgary martial arts programs is the integration of sword training (kenjutsu) with empty-hand techniques. You don’t just learn moves—you learn principles that actually connect everything together.
The atmosphere is very welcoming, whether you’re a complete beginner or have experience in karate, judo, or other martial arts. The kids Aikido classes are also excellent—great structure, discipline, and confidence-building for children.
