Calgary Parking Authority

The Calgary Parking Authority manages public parking facilities, enforcement programs, and provides parking advisory services to fulfill the City of Calgary's parking mandates and implement its parking policies. The Authority operates without using any tax revenues and contributes a portion of its net revenue back to the City each year. The Authority uses the ParkPlus system to provide public parking on street, in parkades, and in surface parking lots. It was established in 1968 and reports to City Council through the Board of Directors. In 1994, responsibility for Parking Enforcement and the Impound Lot was transferred to the Authority from Calgary Police Services. Revenue generated by the Authority is returned as a dividend to the City.
