Beacon Lodge Apartments

The Beacon Lodge Apartments is a distinctive and historic apartment building located in Victoria, BC. It is shaped like a giant "U", with the left side known as the "B" Wing, built in the 1960s and consisting of 12 furnished bachelor suites that face south and offer views of the Olympic Mountains. The main building, constructed in 1949, forms the bottom of the "U" and features 4 one-bedroom and 30 bachelor suites facing east, most of which provide views of Beacon Hill Park. The oldest section of the building is the right side, known as the "A" Wing, which dates back to 1889 when it was known as Beacon Cottage. In 1946, it was converted into the Transient Lodge by Joseph Cote, who later merged it with the main building in 1949 to create Beacon Lodge. This unique and historic apartment building has been in operation for 73 years since its original construction by the Côté family in 1946.
