Barrie Welding & Machine, initially started in 1945 as a small three-man shop, has experienced steady growth over the years. In 1974, the original owners retired and a group of four employees formed a partnership to purchase the company. Since then, Barrie Welding has focused on expanding its services and developing new divisions, including press repair, CNC machining, automation, coil handling technology, and design. With the establishment of sister companies Western Mechanical and Western Hydraulics, Barrie Welding has become one of the largest "one stop jobbing shops" in Ontario. The company now operates out of a 200,000 square feet facility and employs over 200 skilled individuals from various trades. Barrie Welding has obtained CWB, TSSA, and ISO 9001 certification to enhance customer service. The company's market area has expanded to include Canada, the U.S.A., Mexico, and Europe. Today, Barrie Welding & Machine offers welding, machining, press work, and automation services all under one roof, making it one of the most comprehensive jobbing shops in the industry.
