Backyard Farm Chef's Table offers a unique culinary experience in the beautiful south Okanagan region of British Columbia. Chef Chris Van Hooydonk, with his passion for cooking and farming, has created a farm-to-table approach to dining that has been rewarding and inspiring since 2008. With almost 20 years of experience in the high-end culinary industry, Chef Chris decided to fulfill his dream of opening a farm-based intimate dining room and cooking school. The important relationship between wine and food in BC's wine country is a driving force behind the project. The Chef's Table is located on a 2-acre hobby orchard property in Oliver, surrounded by vineyards, heritage fruit trees, and garden beds. The menu and culinary workshops draw inspiration from the seasonal bounty, sourced from the property itself and other dedicated growers and producers. The dining room and kitchen are designed for interaction, allowing guests to witness the cooking process. The property features almost 50 heritage fruit trees, providing a variety of fruits for the personalized menus and workshop recipes. Seasonal vegetables, herbs, and flowers are also grown on the farm. Guests can enjoy the farm's bounty year-round through Backyard Farm retail products and preserves. The services offered include pre-booked private culinary demonstrations with tailored menus and wine pairings, private culinary workshops, organic orchard, preserves, events, restaurant consultation, catering, and private chef services.
