BaBa Shawarma

BaBa Shawarma is a Lebanese restaurant located in Mont Saint Hilaire, Quebec. We are proud to be the favorite spot for locals to gather and enjoy delicious Lebanese cuisine. Our menu offers a variety of famous Lebanese dishes such as shawarma, shish taouk, and Lebanese grills. All our meats are HALAL. The concept of shawarma originated from the idea of minimizing the loss of fatty meat during cooking by vertically rotating the skewer. This cooking technique gives shawarma its distinctive taste. The word "shawarma" means rotation, referring to the rotating spit over the fire. Shawarma has a long history dating back to 1870 and has spread throughout Lebanon and Turkey. In Lebanon, it became popular in the early 20th century, with many famous shawarma shops in Beirut, including Mounir El Baba, who opened his first restaurant in 1958. The secret recipe has been passed down to his children and grandchildren, ensuring an authentic taste at BaBa Shawarma. Our restaurant offers an experience of culinary heritage and an authentic taste of Lebanon, with a focus on charcoal-grilled Lebanese dishes.
